* three months past *
the task of updating blogs have really gone downhill since my discovery of facebook, but i suppose this should be as good a time as any to pick it up. i've decided it might be interesting (if only for our baby) to keep a sort of pregnancy journal. so, for the next 6 months, this shall become "diaries of a desperate housewife". sans the hot plumber....
so while i eat my organic mac'n'cheese, i'll devote the inaugural post to the bain of my existence for the past few weeks: hives.
also known as pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPP), it seems that it is normal for the hives to appear during the last trimester, but i seemed to have jumped the gun and started late in my first trimester. i will randomly get itchy patches which will then turn into hives, which look like horrible mosquito bites. they started out behind my knees, which would usually flare up when i'm sitting at the dining table. i first thought it was our rattan chair irritating me, but the hives continued later in other places (on my hands, arms, knees, legs) at other times. it's actually starting to get out of control. i'm always itchy!!
from what i've read, it's quite harmless, just extremely annoying. so i'll probably wait til my next appointment at the end of the month to see if the doctor has anything to say.
speaking of my next appointment, we are switch back to public, because we just can't afford those english-speaking private doctors anymore. so more about public vs. private in the next post. here are a few photos to keep y'all amused.
scratch on.
