* typhoon nuri *
seeing as it's nearly a Typhoon 10 and we're trapped at home (possibly for a few days), i figured it's about time for another update. so here's me:

Lilypie Expecting a baby Ticker

21 weeks Left) and 22 weeks (Right)

doesn't look as pointy anymore, but the ultrasound last week confirmed that it is indeed a BOY! not actually a big surprise since we thought that it was going to be, and everyone else seemed to think so as well. but now all questions can be put to rest and everyone can stop asking us what it is... except now everyone wants to know if we have a name.....

ever since week 17 the baby has been kicking quite a lot. it just feels weird, especially when he kicks so hard that you see my stomach moving. when that happens, all i can picture is Thumper with his massive feet. that's what it feels like.

symptoms-wise, the hives have pretty much died down since we went to australia, now it's the heartburn. i mean, INTENSE heartburn. can't seem to get rid of it. i'm just gonna have to stay clear away from anything with spices for awhile. ugh.

* changes they are a-comin'! *
i am now 19 weeks! almost halfway there! after we took this photo, i realized that my stomach is kinda pointy, so what does that mean? i'm sure everyone will have an opinion, but we'll be having our next 'official' ultrasound in a week and a half, and hopefully that will put all queries to rest...

so what's so special about august this year? well, first i've started my intensive french course, which is tres fabulous. i feel like my brain hasn't learnt anything new for a very long time, and it's nice to have a chance to make use of it everyday. oui oui.

and second, we finally got the keys to our new flat in tung chung!! [insert groan here] yes, we know it's far, but we get so much more! don't believe me? here's a little comparison of our current dive, i mean flat, in north point (which i've decided is the armpit of hong kong), and our new place in tung chung, which is called caribbean coast. yes, we now live in the caribbean :)

the view from the living room window:
caribbean coast

full ocean view!!

north point

yep, buildings on all sides. the only sign of water would be aircon drips from the buildings.

stepping outside the building:
caribbean coast

yes, that is a waterfall straight ahead, the waterfall that feeds into the swimming pool. what swimming pool, you ask? this swimming pool:

north point

and yes, that is the garbage dump on the left.

so there you go. for only a little bit more rent, we get almost twice the area space, ocean view, and everything else that comes with living in the caribbean. i can say right now that i won't be missing north point anytime soon!
